AFROCENTRIC VOICES IN 'CLASSICAL' MUSIC

Vocalmus-L -- Vocal Music Discussion List

WELCOME TO VOCALMUS-L!!

The Vocal Music List is an unmoderated forum for discussion of issues related to vocal pedagogy, performance, musical styles, research, music composition, etc., within the areas classical music and musical theatre.

VOCALMUS-L is intended for the music teacher, performer, composer, scholar, or anyone who is interested in the subject. Participation on the list is open to subscribers of any racial or educational background.

Subscribers are welcome to share announcements about upcoming concerts, competitions and conferences, newly published bibliographic sources or course materials, and newly opened Internet resources relevant to this list. The subscriber is also encouraged to introduce herself/himself to the others on the list and to use VOCALMUS-L as a networking resource.

Only subscribers may post messages to VOCALMUS-L. Non-subscribers may contact the listowner and request that their messages be forwarded to the list.

To subscribe to VOCALMUS-L, place the following command in the body of an email message addressed to the listowner at rljones@afrovoices.com:

SUBSCRIBE VOCALMUS-L

You will receive confirmation from the listowner that your subscription request has been accepted.

Discussion on VOCALMUS-L can be varied and spirited as long as it stays within the bounds of the list's focus. There are, however, two No-No's. Friendly disagreement is fine, but flame wars are verboten. The listowner will not hesitate to do whatever necessary to quash them, up to removing the participants from the list.

The second thing is the posting of commercial advertising on unrelated topics on the list. Again, the listowner will take any steps necessary to discourage the sender.

If you have any questions about the list, please contact the listowner at rljones@afrovoices.com.

Again, welcome to VOCALMUS-L!
